Yes! BUHN is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. We never use animal-derived ingredients, and we ensure that none of our materials or finished products are tested on animals.

How does the candle refill system work?

Our refill system makes it easy to reuse your candle jars. Once your candle has burned down, simply clean out the jar and insert a new wax refill. Each refill fits perfectly into your original BUHN vessel, giving you the same quality and burn time without waste.

What makes BUHN eco-friendly?

At BUHN, we prioritize sustainability at every step of our process. Our candles are made with 100% natural soy wax, which is biodegradable and renewable. We use non-toxic, paraben-free fragrances and lead-free cotton wicks for a clean, safe burn. Plus, our refillable candle system reduces waste by allowing you to reuse your candle jars, and our packaging is designed to be minimal and recyclable.

Once your candle has burned out (ensure there is approx 0.5 cm left of wax), there are a few options you can choose when using one of our refills.

Opt 1: Place the base of your candle in a dish of warm water, this is to loosen the remaining wax. Gently scoop out the remaining wax and wipe down the sides.

Opt 2: Place the vessel in your freezer for a few hours, then gently pop out the leftover wax with a butter knife and wipe it clean.

Then drop your infill in the vessel and enjoy for another 40 hrs. Please make sure the candle vessel is empty before placing your new refill in.

To ensure a long-lasting, clean burn, follow these simple candle care tips:

Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use to prevent soot and ensure a steady flame.
Let the wax melt to the edges on the first burn to avoid tunnelling.
Burn for no more than 3-4 hours at a time for best results.
Always place your candle on a heat-resistant surface and never leave it unattended.
