We use lead-free cotton wicks for a clean, safe burn. Plus our refillable candle system reduces waste by allowing you to reuse your candle jars and our packaging is designed to be minimal and recyclable.
To clean out your candle jar first let the wax cool and harden then place the jar in the freezer for a few hours. Once the wax has fully hardened gently pop it out with a spoon or butter knife. Wipe the inside of the jar clean with a cloth and your vessel will be ready for a new wax refill.
Yes Buhn Candles are safe to burn in homes with pets. Our candles are made with non-toxic phthalate-free fragrances and natural soy wax. Ensuring a safe environment for your furry friends. However we always recommend keeping lit candles out of reach of pets for their safety.
Each Buhn Candle offers approximately 40 hours of burn time thanks to the slow-burning properties of natural soy wax. To ensure you get the most out of your candle burn it for 3-4 hours at a time and follow proper candle care such as trimming the wick before each use.
To ensure a long-lasting, clean burn follow these simple candle care tips:
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use to prevent soot and ensure a steady flame.
- Let the wax melt to the edges on the first burn to avoid tunneling.
- Burn for no more than 3-4 hours at a time for best results.
- Always place your candle on a heat-resistant surface and never leave it unattended.

Yes! Buhn Candles are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. We never use animal-derived ingredients and we ensure that none of our materials or finished products are tested on animals.
If you’re having issues like uneven burning or excess soot check that the wick is trimmed to ¼ inch before lighting. Make sure the candle is placed on a flat, stable surface and avoid drafts which can cause uneven burning. We aim to dispatch all orders by the next working day. Delivery typically takes between 1-5 working days to arrive, depending on your location. Once your order is on its way you can track it using the provided tracking number. If there are any unexpected delays we’ll reach out with an updated delivery date.
Unfortunately once your order has been dispatched the delivery date cannot be changed. If you’re not available when delivery is attempted the carrier will leave a card with further instructions, including how to reschedule delivery, change the delivery address, or choose pick-up options.
Yes we ship internationally. Please be aware of additional costs that you may need to face dependant on the country you are ordering from.
Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday via Recorded Delivery. Please allow up to 5 working days for dispatch.
Our delivery costs are based on Royal Mail and courier services. Here's a breakdown:
- United Kingdom: £3.50
- UK Express Shipping: £5 with Royal Mail Tracked 24 or UPS Next Day service (please note, dispatch time remains the same).
For orders outside the UK, customs checks may cause delays, and import fees such as VAT and handling charges may apply. These are the responsibility of the recipient and are not covered by Buhn..
Once your order is dispatched you will receive an email with the tracking information. You can track its progress in the Account section of our website. If you have any issues with tracking or delivery please reach out to us and we’ll assist you in resolving the issue with the courier.
If your order goes missing please contact us and we’ll liaise with the courier on your behalf to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Our candles come with warning labels to comply with UK and European CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) regulations. These labels are required to inform you of potential hazards related to the ingredients used. While our candles are made from natural, clean-burning materials, the essential oils used in our scents need to be classified in case of accidental ingestion or, in rare cases, skin contact. Safety is always our priority and these labels ensure full transparency and compliance.
